Most commonly, American tuxedos and suits are manufactured as a married set with a six-inch drop. A six-inch drop means the waist size is six sizes less than the coat size. For example, if you order a 40R coat the pants will be a 34R. A 42R will come with 36R pants, and so on. These sizes are based on the general proportion sizes of men. You'll see six-inch drops in all men's clothing retail shops.

We know that a six-inch drop doesn't always work with everyone. We generally like to find tuxedos and suits that have some type of waist adjustment. Make sure to read the product descriptions for more details. Furthermore, most tailors are able to take in or bring out a waist to fit your unique size. And sometimes it's best to order a size higher in the coat to get your correct waist size and have your coat brought in by a tailor.

Sometimes we carry tuxedos or suits that you can select your coat and pant waist size. These are called "Separates".

Unfortunately, no. All boy's tuxedo and suit packages are married sets and can't be broken up.

Slim fit describes the type of cut of the garment. Slim fits are tapered and cut slimmer to fit closer to the body. Slim fits have become very popular lately. However, an traditional fit doesn't fit "big". Formal wear is designed to be worn at your true size and fit accordingly.
